Turning His Head

Turning His Head Volume 1
Turning His Head Volume 2

Initial Impressions: * * * *
Revisitability: * *

I first came across "idonothingallday" a few years ago, posting on a video sharing site. When he started, it seemed he would hang out in the streets in New York, looking for good-looking ladies, and ask to film them. This was straight down the line candid street video; a different girl in every clip, often with a wave or a blown kiss, and occasionally something a bit more revealing. That's the joy of candid video, those few moments when you get a glimpse of something you feel you shouldn't have seen.

His next venture was, bizarrely, to start an online ladies clothing shop. Presumably he was selling it to men, since his main advertising was videos of models wearing the clothes in a revealing way and going out in public. Something about the glam style he used for those videos didn't do it for me.

Now he's back, as of last year, with a couple of compilations. Both "turninghishead.com" volumes 1 and 2 are sets of 50 or so videos, around 1 minute each, all filmed outdoors in the city or its parks. Some of the best of his original clips are in here, and some of the overly-glam advertising shots, but most of it seems to be new work. Judging from the angles and setup he's done, and the interaction with the camera, most of the new footage seems to be of paid models rather than candid, but he has re-found the candid look from his first shoots, and there's a lot to appreciate in both of these.

Staging the shoots means that there can be more of the things we really hope to see in candid videos. There's plenty of bra-free boob action, tight and sheer clothes, and a good bit of cleavage around.

The technical quality isn't perfect. The videos are not the highest resolution videos ever, somewhere around 480x320, and sometimes either the encoding or the original filming is poor and shows up in the final results. He also has strange taste in music, but you can always turn the volume down.

Overall, for $8 per volume, I would recommend checking these out.
